Many nonprofits and small businesses operate on a tight budget and may not have the staff or expertise to manage projects, start new initiatives, or even evaluate their existing programs in addition to completing their daily responsibilities. Michelle started Muirfield Consulting with the sole purpose of providing nonprofits and small businesses with excellent project management and evaluation services at a reasonable cost so these organizations might achieve their desired results.
With over fifteen years of project management experience, Michelle is adept at analyzing problems, developing innovative solutions, setting priorities, and keeping projects moving forward.
Principal Consultant & Owner
Michelle began her career as an engineer, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Northwestern University. She quickly proved herself capable of managing large projects within the manufacturing environment and transitioned into management consulting. With Ernst & Young and eventually Computer Science Corporation, Michelle led large enterprise-wide resource planning implementations and manufacturing execution system applications.
Michelle has been an active volunteer throughout her life. Immediately following college, she spent two years as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching high school math in Mali, West Africa. Since then she has volunteered for the American Red Cross, Clearbrook, Gigi's Playhouse, the local school PTA, the neighborhood homeowner's association, and the Girl Scouts among other organizations.
After taking time off to raise her family, Michelle returned to school for a Master in Public Service from DePaul University. Following a brief stint as a business manager for a local nonprofit, Michelle decided to align her love of working in the community with nonprofits and her previous experience in consulting and started Muirfield Consulting. She has completed several projects with local nonprofits since she began Muirfield Consulting in 2013.
Michelle is a member of the Project Management Institute and a certified Project Manager Professional (PMP). She is also a member of the American Evaluation Association in which she routinely takes advantages of the online materials and webinars to increase her knowledge of program evaluation.
